The classic Wharncliffe style blade seems to be growing in popularity for every day carry knives, and if you think about it it’s easy to see why. The flat edge allows a lot of cutting pressure at a specific point, and is easy to sharpen. The severe drop in the tip means that the blade tapers quickly, which makes it lighter and extra pokey (the scientific term). Lot’s of folks use them in the kitchen, and they’re ideal for cutting open boxes. This is the first one I’ve made, but I’ve got several more on the way because I like ‘em. It has a 1080 blade, stainless hardware, and buffalo horn scales. This one is going across the pond to a friend in England.
