Wondering what type and thickness of stainless do I need to make my linerlocks..I have always used Titanium
in .050 and .070 but am thinking of trying stainless.I am out of Titanium, and before I order any I may decide to go with the stainless. Thanks in advance

Also wondering if there are any + or --'s when it comes to using one or the other

I have not made one out of stainless yet, but I would assume that you would at least need .070. I went with .125 on my titanium. To me, you do save weight with a thinner frame side but I wonder at what point do you start sacrificing rigidity and durability?

-edit - for some reason i read that as "framelocks"

I have used about .05 for stainless on a liner lock..never done any linerlocks with Ti though. The Ti I spoke of above was a framelock.

Thanks JS..I agree on the framelock,to me the thicker material is a must.I am working on a couple framelocks..Just tough to
do with what I am working with...Thanks for the information

If you use stainless, it must be heat treatable, otherwise the spring will take a set over time and fail.:what!:
