Kampman Knives

Well-Known Member
Also made this droip point woodcarver today out of Mercedes springsteel with arrowhead hammerstroke patter, filework on the back, forced tigerstripe patina and convex edge.
The handle is made from deer antlers with a pommel and guard from abalone shell with black epoxy.
Hope you like it?

thats cool ive always wanted to make knives out of car springs but i was told they dont make good knives. guess thy were wrong.

The question is why would you use old second hand and stressed steel if you can buy perfect new steel for a cheap price where the quality is better?
I personally work with scrap steels and with new steels, and i like both for a reason!
Just have a passion for recycling and Neo Tribal Blacksmithing and there are great knife makers out there who use scrap steel and getting a quality edge holding sharp knife;)
