well his mom and dad would not let him sharpen, he was crushed lol but i agreed.
fast forward the 5 years and he just stoped buy with his dad and he talked his dad into letting him sharpen
and carry hunting this year. well i just put a edge on it and a lanyard now just a sheath, here it is just tickled he kept for 5 YEARS and now wants to carry.

Great story behind that one ! My nephew got his first deer yesterday but I haven't heard if he used the knife I made him or if grandpa did the honors.

Sure hope he get's to break it in this year !

Franklin,
Sounds like you have a life long customer and when he has kids you will be making them knives.
Nice looking hunting knife, too. Wade

My brother just got his second deer of the season, but I know that for the first he used a knife I made him, and said it worked like a charm! To tell you the truth, I had forgetten that I even made him a knife.

Think hes excited!!!!

5 years is a long time to wait. You have an apprentice in the making there...

I really like this story. I have been setting up at a local farmers market this year to help me get my name out there. I almost always have some kids stop by and eye my knives and ask all kinds of questions. I am surprised at how many of the youngsters are girls. I have had the urge to invite one or two of them, along with a parent, to help make a knife. My schedule is the only problem.
I like that you took the time to work with this young person, and that he had that kind of patience. I dont.
Congrats brother, my hat is off to you and your efforts.
