Glad you are OK and it could have been much worse. Sometimes it's better to give it a rest, tiredness and pressing jobs can make accidents more likely. Hope your mended soon!
That looks like a very cost effective method for cutting out blanks. As a hobbyist maker I have limited time and budget so I use a hacksaw for all my blanks.
