Box Jaw tongs like these from Centaur Forge, Pieh Tools or Blacksmith's Depot are what I use the most. Offset blade tongs are also very helpful and sold at the same places.

I have probably around 50 old American made cold chisels. Good to hear that some may be S5 or S7. I'm going to air quench the ones I want to make into drifts and other hot work tools to see if they harden. Thanks for that info.

Hello Wayne. Thanks for the welcome. The hill country is a pretty large area in central Texas and I'm about a 20 minute drive south of it's southern tip. It's beautiful country full of whitetail and Axis deer! I hear that mountain lions are making a comeback there with more sightings recently...
