    hamper lightbox

Lol I don't have anything to clamp my lights to so just set the box on the floor under an end table and clamped them to the lip under the table. I had dart league tonight so no time to play with the camera tonight I will take some shots and post them tomorrow evening.

    An experiment

So today I was out in the shop enjoying my new diesel forced air heater and getting some blades ready to send out a batch for ht. On a break from hand sanding, I started going through my bucket of handle material scraps and decided to try something that has been bouncing around in my head for a...

    my first knives for 2016

Finally things have gotten back to normal after the craziness of the holidays. I finally started my first and second of 2016. Just a couple little guys in Alabama damascus. I found these two off cuts that I've had laying around the shop for well over a year. To tell the truth after I cut the...

    cone loc

I used to grind all my knives on a 2"x10" cone loc. Untill last year when it came open upon startup and tore itself apart. Was pretty scary for sure. I was glad that I had to stand off to the side of it to turn it on. It did the job ok but after a couple knives it had me wishing for a belt...

Soon to be slinging sparks again

Got the new grinder home today and found a spot for it in my little garage shop. Decided to re organize in order to make it a bit more user friendly in there. Once I finally got the grinder set up and bolted down, I spent some time familiarizing myself with the operation of it. Took me a moment...

Soon to be slinging sparks again

Yeah it looks like a decent one. Only 2x48 and doesn't pivot so one can grind on the contact wheel but it is a step up from even the cone lock

Soon to be slinging sparks again

Last october (almost exactly a year ago) my grinder (a 2"x10" cone lock sanding drum with a 1 hp motor) flew apart at full speed and destroyed itself. Since then I have been plugging away with files and sand paper. Yesterday on kijiji (Canada's version of Craig's list) I found a baldor 2x48...

Thanks. I also really like this handle material. I picked up 4 blocks a while back and this was the least figured of the bunch.
