Anybody ever used electric sanders for flats?

One other thing I found that keeps from shredding paper when using an 'un-modified' sander is to clamp the blade to a piece of wood so the contact side is flat on the wood and the edge is about 1/8 from the edge of the wood. This keeps the paper from getting snagged on the blade and allows me...

Anybody ever used electric sanders for flats?

    Safety Hint

Something else I learned early. When they get hot, leather gloves can burn you real good before you get them off. OH, and when your MIG welding don't lay the gun in your lap so the trigger is engaged. It can send a hot wire into Johnson.

Using old truck parts gives me plenty of free materials. I like working with the old coils and I want to try scrounging the bearing box for a good sized race. I'm trying to learn the basic's and do what I like to do based on good practice. If I try to follow someone else I'll never make...

Even though I've been a member of this forum for a couple of years I still consider myself new. Between long work hours and a short illness I don't get near as much time to engage in my hobby as I would like. So, if my work shows a lack of skill it's really a lack of being able to practice as...

Let me get this right. Instead of tearing up expensive belts and steel to practice grinding on I can do it with a piece of wood on an old AO belt?
