Can someone give me a rundown on folder springs? Mainly, do all types of high carbon make good springs for lockbacks and slip joints? I know 1095 and 01 are used a lot. But I have some 3/32 52100 I'd like to try. I'm not sure it makes for a good spring though. Does the blade and spring need to...

Thank you everyone for giving me input. I appreciate the time you took. I'm leaning toward D even though C was my own design. Patricia at IMG designed the other 3. That lady is very creative! I'll probably have her change the font on the "Oklahoma" in D, because I'm concerned it may not etch well.

Can anyone help me ID this anvil? I weighted it with bathroom scales and it weighed in right at 100lbs.

I would HT 1080+ like 1084. It's been a while since I HT any, but I believe my target temp was 1475 with only a 5 minute soak. I then tempered the blades for 2 hours @ 400 degrees. They made great knives.

That's how I see a lot of them do it, but his cut is so nice and clean, I was thinking it may have been cut another way. Many of the ones I see cut with a cut off wheel are kinda jagged and not clean looking...or at least not until they're cleaned up!! :)

At one time I agreed with you Eric. But since then I've owned 2 spiders and I believe they put the hump there so they can use the large hole as an aide in opening the blade in lieu of a thumb stud. It took me a while to get use to the look, but I like 'em "okay" now.
