    Recommended grinder for folders?

Grizzly with a 10" wheel. I do everything from folders to 14'' Bowies. I modified the tool rest to to be two inches wide and to be centered on wheel. I don't do Flat grind or Convex, I hollow ground all of my blades. So the grizzly is perfect grinder for me and for less than 500.00. I love mine.

What is your method/s of making a knife template?

I use to design up a design on the computer. I would sketch designs on printer paper. But now I cut out a piece of steel and let the design find itself. My folders are from parts I have designed. That is done with waterjet and Autocad. I heard of one folder maker that drill his pivot hole...

    Grinder Advice...on a budget

Get a Grizzly, be done with it little over 500.00. Unless you have a good source of used parts. You be hard pressed to build a grinder for less. Get the 10'' wheel with it and sell the 8'' wheel. You can grind everything from folder to big Bowies. The only mod I have done is shorten the tool...

Okay, I spend the last two days working on couple of big Bowies. Yesterday I ground off hand, which I always have. Today I use Johnny Stouts Hollow ground method, from his video. I won't ever Grind off hand again. I Find it much easier to grind with a rest with the edge up. Just saying.

I'm not sure if I should be tickled or ticked-off.

Ticked, you're kidding right? You make a knife, sell it and it appreciates in value. That is what everyone strives for. Your knife is now a Blue Chip Investment. Wall Street could be so lucky.
