Briwax, $16 at ace hardware and will last you for the rest of your life. I called briwax and they said it's food safe once it dries...as most should be i think. I coat it on the blade (as stated a little bit goes a loooong way) and handle and buff out with a soft rag or old t-shirt. polishes...

as long as chef Ramsey or Bear Grylis isn't involved it might be pretty good. :lol:

Id thought about the blackwood, but he mentioned a synthetic and so I didn't push the wood thing. Thanks Ed, I might check some local cabinet places. Something outside the box like that for the white might be a good option.

I've got a commission that described a matched pair of his and her kitchen knives. They should be matched respectively, Ivory and Ebony. (ugg...white handle:noway:) The first thing that came to my mind was the Kirinite that Bossdog sells. I think I'm trying to keep the price down, so...

this was the after sharpening buff. I put the final edge on my knives with a stone and after the honing oil and cleaning it up, i generally go ahead a put another light coat of wax on it. The though is to make sure it's clean and to keep the edge from rusting any while waiting on the customer...

HAHa, this is the one that's costing me a lot more money than I put into it...and it's going to fellow for a trade..oh well. Kids, don't polish by hand late at night while your tired and in a hurry. I'm getting much better at my fit and finish these days and I must say that those gater belts...
