I am looking to see if anyone can send me or post some photos of the a jig to use when first cutting bevels into the knife. I have been using a 1x30 grinder and decided to try to work with files instead. If you use a jig please help me out. I am having a hard time getting the right profile.

Can anyone comment on cutting the bevel in? What is the best method or correct. Is it ok that it looks like a capital V? I see others that have steps in the bevel.

I am about to finish up my second folder and want to put a nice correct edge on it. Currently I am using a belt grinder and do passes up to 600grit. The edge is sharp and looks like a V. Its been a little and finally getting back to knife making. Quick question on location of the pins on the lock section of the slip joint. Is there set points to put the pins or is it more per knife/size? I am thinking this needs to move to help put more or less tension, most likely wrong.

I understand more. thank you for taking the time to explain to me. Barrel pivot on the front (blade) and tap the metal liners/stand offs for the flat head screws. I also use pins, but im still learning peening art.

Well I did some work on the knife. I found out that I made the liners to large and the knife blade is totally behind them when the close. I think everything else now fits OK. I still have a lot of sanding and polishing to complete and heat treatment. I am still not sure the location of the stop...
