How many of you guys and/or gals carry a vintage or antique knife rather than modern one?

Thanks for your replies. Sorry for the late acknowledgement...caring for a sick parent and time got away from me.

How many of you guys and/or gals carry a vintage or antique knife rather than modern one?

I carry a 100+ year old collared butcher knife that was converted into a type of Hudson Bay blade. It has a 6" blade with a walnut handle. It still has all of traits that gives it that antique quality look and it takes a razor's edge.

The colors of the wheel signify the four main winds or directions. The rest are just personal preference.

    Beaded and Tacked Sheath

I usually sketch a picture of the sheath I'm preparing to make. Then I duplicate the lines for the design lightly with a fine tip pen directly onto the cloth or buckskin. Then I stitch the beads into place...usually three at a time, then run the needle back through the three I just put down and...

    Beaded and Tacked Sheath

Depending on the size of the sheath, one with a lot of beading can take anywhere from 30-60 hours depending on the amount of beadwork. I don't do nearly as much beading as I used to. I'm almost 60, and after nearly 40 years of doing it, it's getting tough on my eyes and I hate wearing...

What are your favorite production folders?

As far as production knives it would be my Spydercos and Kershaws. Decent knives that don't break the bank. I like to buy some of them and add to them customizing them a little. Here is an example where I added to a Spyderco Tenacious. I acid treated all of the metal, added 3D scales then...

I haven't been here lately and just found your comment from July on my 1887 replica of Winchester's lever action shotgun. Mine is a Norinco and has served me well and I wouldn't part with it. They used to have some issues a few years ago but a guy from the US that knows his stuff about guns as...

Need help to ID this makers mark.

It was a good suggestion. His anvil mark is different than this one and has his initials SAS under it. I blew up the pics and it appears to have the intials HC or HG inside the anvil. Thanks.
