    cleaver blade geometry

    I want to make a kitchen cleaver. I have some 1/4" thick 440C I plan on using. I am thinking about a good 1" wide bevel, flat ground. leaving the edge about .05 thick pre heat treat. I would put the edge on using the slack belt. is this a good idea?

    My latest friction folders

    O1 steel blades, acid etched, blued and stone washed. stainless or brass liners. closed they are 4-1/2" open they are about 6-1/4". what do you guys think? I really like making them.
