    Im a fan of multiple etches, i etch in diluted ferric 4:1 (4 parts distilled h20) dip for 5 min only, then clean all the black oxides off and dip again. do this about 10 times it is far more effective than a single long dip. be sure to clean the blade between etches. you will get a nice even...
