Go see a doc, choose a salad over the double bacon, triple mayo, quadruple cheese monster burger with a double order of fries.
A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of having a heart attack. Let me tell you, that stuff hurts and the recovery is no fun either. I ended up having angioplasty...
Has something changed with Busse's trademark of it? I've seen 4 or 5 on different knives just this morning while swimming through the different forums.
Granted, I've always thought that the trademarking of a hole was kinda hinky, but, hey, to each their own.
... and almost didn't get finished at all. It's CPM D2 and it took so long to finish grind and ate through so many belts that I stabbed it into the workbench as a reminder to never work with this stuff again. Then after talking to Walter Brend at Blade about how much he liked the stuff I was...
This was a first for me, and came about by me just thinking about other stuff and not paying attention.
You know when you're drilling and that nice curl of metal comes up and wraps around your drill bit? Take my word for it... don't grab it. It'll act like a bandsaw and rip right through you.
Morning All,
Figured I'd let y'all know about Boss's new Kirinite grip material. It looked interesting, but I was hesitant to try it since it looked kinda pimpy and was afraid it would have a plasticky feel. Went ahead and tried some anyway in Desert Camo, Patriot and Lava Flow.
I have to...
Been working on this one for a while. SEER-X Mk V, polished, file work, black and red/black g10 grips with white liners and spacers.
And before anyone asks, yes, I collect minerals, yes, I'm a closet geek, bite me.
Seriously, I'm about to wig right out. I have a piece of 3/8" 1095, ground out and then I heat treated it. It warped. A nice gentle curve from tip to skullcrusher. So I tried the trick posted here and clamped it to another piece of 3/8" steel, with a penny at the apex of the curve, it was...
So my Evenheat furnace looks to ship this Wednesday, so I've been wrapping my head around the whole heat treating thing. One question that has come up that I haven't been able to find an answer to involves soak times. Does the soak time start when the furnace reaches temp, or when the blade...
First page I flipped it to was an article on John Barker. Congrats man, that's awesome.
Now when I'm not covered in G10 dust I'll be able to actually read it.
Afternoon Gang,
I finally got to finish me knife made form the bar of Elmax from the raffle and just got done testing it out. All I can say is holy moly, this stuff is awesome. I didn't get any photos of the bar when I got it to start this off right, but picture in your head a long rectangle...
... and finally got pics and some more details, so I can finally let the cat out of the bag. It's kinda long, so be forewarned.
I made a knife for a member on another board, we'll call him Mark. He got a SEER Mk IV with green and black wood grips, it was a thing of beauty. This is what he got...
Hi Gang,
Here is one that I finished up a little while ago. It's 1/4" 1095, with a satin finish, ironwood grips, both edges are convexed. 7" blade and 5" handle with skullcrusher.
This is my Reflection Mk VII- double edged with a recurve lower main edge- Shadow patina, tan furniture:
The Reflection Mk V- desert patina, black furniture:
Went for a hike this weekend and found a cool spot to take some pics. Cool being somewhat optimistic, it was 96 degrees out and almost 80% humidity.
Hogbody Mk IV
The first is the Conquest Mk V in Desert patina with tan grips and sheath that a customer special ordered:
The second is the Hogbody Mk IV with Shadow patina and black micarta:
They are both 1/4" 1095, the Conquest has a 5" blade and the Hogbody a 4" blade.
It was the first time...
Just noticed the intro page. Just signed up here. Been making knives for a while, pretty much for friends, then friends of friends, and I just recently launched my company, Jericoh Blade Works and am now a full time maker. Extra full time actually with all the backorders. I am a pro photographer...
