HAND-FORGED CUSTOM KNIFE – MEDIEVAL HERITAGE STEEL
This custom knife is forged around a serpent pattern, a symbol of knowledge, power, and continuity.
At its heart lies a twisted Damascus core, surrounded by historic bloomery iron from a 14th-century low furnace.
This iron already existed when it witnessed major medieval conflicts between 1357 and 1397, involving figures such as Arnaud de Cervole, Henri of Trastámara, and later Charles of Taranto, during the sieges led against the stronghold of the rebel Raymond de Turenne in southern France, Provence.
This is not recycled steel.
It is authentic medieval iron, reforged by hand more than six centuries after its first use.
The blade is forged using a traditional multi-bar construction, assembled from multiple steel bars around a twisted Damascus core, with a high-carbon steel edge and spine forge-welded for cutting performance and structural integrity.
The overall design follows a semi-integral Puukko-inspired form, combining Nordic efficiency with medieval European metallurgy.
The handle is carved from natural Emerald Quartzite, selected for its deep green color, mineral structure, and durability — a rare and demanding material that requires full hand shaping.
Every step of this knife was executed using traditional forging techniques, without industrial shortcuts or modern mass-production methods.
This level of metallurgy is no longer taught, cannot be automated, and exists today only through individual makers preserving lost knowledge.
Ce n'est pas un couteau fait pour être remplacé.
C'est un couteau fait pour être transmis de génération en génération.
