Cable Hawk

Here is the hawk, I have in another post, completed.
The haft is 19" long and the head is 7 3/8" with a 2 5/8" edge. The grip is raw hide with a hemp wrap. There is a braided hemp lanyard and two deer antler tips.
And to top it all off is a John Cohea raw hide head cover.
Thanks for looking.

Thank you all for taking the time to view and the comments.
This was a very enjoyable package to work on. Wade

wade - I saw this elsewhere, but like I said, I really like it. Nice piece of art and a vicious weapon.

something that just occurred to me: if you had a limited supply of metal and wanted to make tools that could also serve as serious weapons, that style of hawk would be the way to go. The spontoon could be sharpened on one edge to use like a knife, plus you have a chopping tool. The spontoon is obviously a deadly weapon, if needed. And, the best part, it takes only about 3/4 the amount of steel to make one of these as it would a hawk with wrapped construction.

efficient, looks good, etc. I like it!

Thanks Randy and Kevin.
Kevin, it is clear to me why you are the professor, analyze, analyze, analyze. I should do more of it myself. Wade
