Epoxy dye

I have almost run out of my epoxy dye for my Acura Glass. Dose anyone have a suggestion for a replacement? I could not find the dye sold separately on Brownells web site. Someone told me to use artist paint but I’m not sure if that would weaken the epoxy.

Marine suppliers like West Marine have assortment packs of dye for epoxy.
Since the queen dabbles in painting, I use her acrylic paints with great success. A little goes a long way. If using paints, do some tests first. I found that if you try and make the epoxy a solid color, it leaves it rubbery but does harden over a longer period of time. Color the epoxy so it's still semi transparent and it does dry a solid color.

Brownells does sell the dyes seperately, at least they used to. You may have to call them. Jason Wilder gave me some of the powdered dyes from K&G and they work just as well as the Brownells stuff and come in a wide range of colors. I haven't done any actual testing but according to whats left in the cup it doesn't effect the way it hardens at all.

Brad,
Yes! Right here from Bossdog I purchased some epoxy dyes in liquid that I have been very pleased with. I have used the Black & Red for my Rhino head mosaic pin I set in my handles and a few other things.
I just purchased a Aqua blue one from Bossdog but haven't tried it yet.

These are liquid and I prefer these to the powdered ones I got from K & G previously.

You can also go into your local craft, hobby, or printing shop and use india ink or acrylic model ink.

These are dyes formulated exactly for epoxy. Just a drop or two is all you need. It will probably dry before you can use it up.
