Here are some pictures of the first two kitchen knives I made completely by myself. My previous two knives were heat treated by gracious knife makers.
First one is a 3.5" paring knife made of AEB-L blade at 61 HRC with a koa handle:
Next one is a 150mm petty with a black linen micarta handle with AEB-L blade at 61 HRC as well:
These are the 3rd and 4th knives I've completed. There should be six, but two never got finished because I didn't like how well they were ground.
I'm excited that these two are completed totally in house. The heat treating process really had me freaked out, so I must thank the two knife makers who have provided help and information so freely that I will never feel like I can ever repay them. They know who they are...thanks guys.
