First time using C-Tek

J. Hoffman

Dealer - Purveyor
I just finished this one. It's 1/8 1095 with C-Tek scales. This was my first time using C-Tek, and I liked it. I used a stainless Loveless and a stainless tube in the rear. Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome. I'm a new maker and always appreciate input.

How difficult is it to work with?

Ctek is funny stuff.
It looks terrible unfinished in sheet or scales form but finished on a knife, it looks amazing.
The honeycomb cells are aluminum and come in 1/16" or 1/8" size. 1/16" scales nicely for folders, 1/8" for fixed blade handles.

The resin can be most any color in translucent or opaque. I prefer the opaque myself but some guys really like the translucent and the 3d effect it gives.
The color between batches will vary as the coloring process is inexact so you want the scales all from the same batch or you will likely have two slightly different shades in most colors except black. That is pretty consistent.
