Friction Folder

As a hobbyist knife maker I don't make large numbers of knives so here is my latest knife, a friction folder with a damascus blade.

I have made it to be UK legal so the cutting edge is less than 3 inches (76mm) but only just. The overall length open is 7 3/8 inches or 187mm. The blade is made from 3.5mm thick Alabama damascus, Alabama Buckshot pattern.

The liners are 1.8mm brass and I have had a go at some filework on them. All the pins and fittings are brass as well.

The scales are stabilised Chechem Burr and the spacer is English Elm, I have used ultra thin grey fibre liners.

Most of the knives I make are used for hunting in the UK so a UK legal folder is a popular choice for rabbiting and small game hunting. I hope you like it, thanks for looking.

I like that, ...the type of knife I hope to make. I like the use of the comparatively thick liners.
