Graduation gift- W2 w/ black & white g-10

This was a commissioned piece from a very kind-hearted man to his daughter as a graduation gift. She loves knives, black and white colors and music and drama so I tried to incorporate a little bit of all of that with this piece.

Hand forged from W2 steel, clay quenched for a really active hamon
5 1/2" blade, 10 1/4" overall, .165" thick at the ricasso
Full distal taper
Rounded spine
Black and white g-10 scales

All comments, critique and discussion welcome.

Beautiful knife John. how did you do the black on white G10?. is that inlay or some kind of scrimshaw I've never seen?

Thanks guys! The music not and drama mask are inlays. And the scales are removable. Although with the hidden dowel pins, even with the screws removed the scales are VERY, VERY difficult to remove.

The blade was requested with a dark etch, which looks good with the theme. But this hamon polished out was even more incredible. Here's a pic:

Super knife!!!
The original polished hamon is over the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can i ask your austenitizing temperature?
Thank you :)
