Greetings, everyone... And Happy Holidays!
I'm Jake Parker from Grangeville, Idaho. I'm 43 and have been trying to build knives for about a year now. I started with a small broken vice held in my lap and a few old files bought at the local second hand store. I softened some of the more worn files in the wood burning stove and began a new life.
Now I use a cheap harbor freight 1x30 belt sander. (I can't wait to use a 2x72 someday)
I mostly use 1095 steel to make my knives from, sometimes a planer blade or a piece of large bandsaw blade too. To date I have made about 40 fixed blade knives in various styles and 3 friction folders.
I joined this forum to learn a lot more about making good knives, so that one day I can make a great knife and teach others to be able to do the same.
Here are a few of my knives...

Thanks for looking.
Any comments are greatly appreciated. (good or bad)
