Hammertime!
Tonight I made my new hammer.
A piece of axle from a truck and an old handle from a splittingmaul.

Cool, have you tried that bad boy out yet? It looks awesome. I would love to see some video of it in action!
 
Looks good but the picture makes it look like there are some sharp angles on the face or it could just be the way the light is hitting it. If there are any sharp angle or lines you would probably do better by rounding them off a bit so that they're not transferred to your work.

Thanks for the compliments! I will give it a try this weekend and adjust the angle of the face and round the edges and polish it.
I just finished it and only took off the sharp edge from the face. The face needs a little dome so I didn't bother
 
Be sure to check that it isn't harder than your anvil, if it is, it could do some serious damge to it, hammers can be expensive, but anvils...good anvils are priceless!!!! Rex
