I was wondering how they make the flat bottom on those Sheffield knives. There's some on ebay right now...they look like a pruning type knife. Looks really nice, but I can't figure it out. Someone please enlighten me.

The flat piece on the bottom is silver soldered to the spring bar.

I'm sure they attached it just like they attached the bolster on the other end.
