some times when i am sitting around waiting on the temper oven or epoxy to cure, i drag out a finished knife that hasn't sold and modify it. this time the victim was the last Heretic model i had stuck back in the safe. i went to work and this is what happened. it came out with this wild grey and black finish too. i am calling it my Black Vein finish from now on. i am going to start using this finish quite a bit.

I like the large character of that patina. It goes really well with the laminate, I just did a large kukri with a similar color theme. Good looking knife!

just aesthetic. i put a spine notch on some design a few years back and people started requesting that cutout on other blades. kinda became a signature of mine. of course, i don't use them all the time.
