I think you have to ask I dont think they charge ,but youll have to ask someone who knows more than me.

The latest "rules" that I learned of is that the IKBS license is free, but you must send the owners a "sample" of one of your knives with the IKBS installed for their inspection. Over the last year I have heard word of a number of makers who have done this, have waited extended time frames for the license and return of their knife/knives. (I checked into it about 6 months ago)

I've decided against using the IKBS system for a number of reasons....including the "licensing" process, along with the fact that you can always expect the phone calls from a customer who has "lost" some bearings, or who couldn't get their knife back together are disassembly.

Personally, I favor the "caged" bearings sold by Alpha Knife supply, as well as some other companies. They are much simpler to use, and customers cannot loose individual bearings.
