John Cohea - Fancy Frontier Fighter w/ Sheath

This big frontier style knife and sheath set features John's evolving 'fold formed copper elements' on the handle, guard and throat of the sheath. The leather inlay on the sheath is also new (Ostrich leg leather in this case). Blade is 11 3/4 inches and forged from leaf spring steel. The prominent clip on this blade is especially nice - attractive and functional in the fighter style, it also helps give good balance to the knife in hand. OAL is 16 3/4 inches and the handle is Elk antler with fold formed copper pommel and ferrule. The "S" guard is wrought iron, also with fold formed copper elements and a stippled copper plate on the front. John's enthusiasm for what he does got all over this one!

Thanks for the post and the great photo Buddy. Thanks also for the compliments guys! This one was a lot of fun,and a challenge as well, since this one is the first to use fold forming as detail, which is a metalsmithing technique that I still have a lot to learn about, but it sure is fun!
