Steve Janik and I have it in our heads we need to go on wild hog hunt.

I am thinking a fair chase hunt somewhere, probably Texas, with guns and dogs and hog knives and ATVs and beer and what ever else we can think of.

This could be the First Annual KnifeDogs-n-Hogs

All we have to do line it up is everything... :les: :biggrin:

Maybe in September or October so it's not 8 million degrees.

That is a great idea Boss! Especially since you said in Texas...

It would be a real treat to meet some of you.

Depending on where you end up deciding, September and October still might be 8 million degrees. November would be the ticket for a south Texas hunt.
 
I am open to November if that is what it takes.
I just want hogs to hit the ground...
 
There are tons of hogs in my neck of the woods and there are a couple of outfitters close by. If you'd like I can get some info. and phone numbers for you.
 
sep.and oct.are tuff times to run dogs in tx. due to deeer season opening and deer hunters dont take to dogs messin up their hunt. jan. thru may for daytime hunts is best but you can hunt nighttime in the summer months. ola/bout the same cept we dont have as many goat hunters but not nearly as many hogs either. ya'l get down this way we'll seewhat we can scare up
 
I am really flexible. I know one or another, I am going on a hog hunt(s)...

It needs to be a day hunt for sure. I don't mind the heat that much but it's hard on the dogs and Janik.
 
I'm sorry that I can't make it, but here is a tip for anyone who wants to fly to the event. It is legal for you to use the USPO to send your gun to yourself, as told to me by the ATF. No problem with local gun restrictions when driving across states w/o ccw reciprocity. ...Teddy
 
Janik,yould love the way i hunt around here we actually put the dogs on the hood and ride the county roads waitin for em to wind a hog.bout the only way this old fat boy hunts unless im sittin straddle a hoss

The 1st Annual KD Hog Hunt is officially scheduled.
Because we couldn't wait until summer or fall, we booked a weekend at www.scenicviewhunting.com in Monona, Iowa.
This is a fenced game preserve, but has come highly recommended.

The Hogs (trophy Russian Boars) are $400.00 each and lodging is $30.00 per man per nite in a cozy cabin. We are on our own for food but there is a kitchen onsite or local diners.

As of now the dates are to arrive on Friday April 19th and hunt sat April 20th and Sun if necc.

There are a few spots left if anyone is interested. The ranch is located in southeastern Iowa just across the Mississippi from Prairie Du Chein, Wisc. (Cabelas and casinos are close).

Damn, Not enough time for me to make plans for that trip but next year I may be real interested in going..I will hold the beer and the spot light..LOL

i am bringing the rest of that beer you brought a year and a half ago back to you. I couldn't even get my broke college kid employees to drink more than one. We will put it out in the field and everyone can shoot it, kill it and help bury it.
