King Kong

This was my biggest knife that I have made to date. It was a custom order for one of my best customers and he named it "King Kong". This huge bowie is 21" long with a 15" blade, 3/8" thick, 3" wide of mirror polished 440C stainless steel. We finished it with bone handles, brass fittings and a custom sheath with stingray inlays and a carving of "Kong".

I have a description and photos of making this knife on my website at King Kong

After I delivered this one, he ordered a matching toothpick that he dubbed "Kong II".

Wow! What a great looking knife Mike. The measurements don't really have an impact until you see the knife in hand. Nicely done!

Umm...someone may want to call Crocodile Dundee and let him know that "THIS" is a knife.

Thanks everybody. Those were fun projects.

That's about my limit on size with stainless. I can't get anything bigger in the heat treat oven! :D

I can only think of one guy who could actually make that knife look normal sized, my Pal Big Ed Reuther/ Ragingwolf66, lolol.
