Large custom hunter in CPM S30V, Sycamore and 304 stainless

Here's the finished knife I had mentioned in a different thread on polishing S30V. I'm pleased with it and learned a lot about this particular steel, thanks Bruce Bump and everyone else!

7" blade of CPM S30V, hand sanded to 600 grit and finished with a super-fine scotchbrite and then buffed. It turned out very uniform, I can't wait to see what the next ones after a cork belt turn out like.
Mirror finish 304 stainless bolsters, double miter cut, 303 stainless Corby fasteners.
California Sycamore handle scales, dyed and stabilized by K&G, sourced from Mark at burlsource.com - This is some nice wood.
11.5" overall length, 9 ounce leather hand-stitched horizontal sheath.

This one is on it's way to a very patient customer right now, I hope you all like it as much as I did.

Beautifully finished work frank love the horizontal sheath idea, much easier to wear when in a car or ute.

cheers Ray

Hey Frank, that sure is a large hunter, and very nice too! You did a fantastic job...and that sheath just compliments the knife extremely well.
I am not usually a fan of black leather sheathes, but this one is a must. Great work!

It came out great Frank. The S30V is tough stuff to work after its hard but worth the trouble in the field.
Thanks for the mention, happy to help.

Hey Mark - That's another cut off my first block of your stabilized California Sycamore. Go ahead and use any of those photos from this thread as well if you'd like, the closeup's show a little more detail this time around.
