Does any one know any thing about a taig mini mill, If they are good or bad? I want to buy one for making nail nicks with a dove tail cutter, releiving liners for slip joints, and milling guard slots in stainless and brass. Been using my buddies big mill but I would like to have one at my shop but dont have the money or the room for a big mill.

I am in the process of researching this myself. From what I have been able to tell, all of the mini mills are made in the same factory in China. The biggest problem seems to be their plastic drive gears which are prone to breakage although there is a belt drive conversion available. Check out LittleMachineShop.com for a lot of good information yet. Once I get my new shop done I will probably be getting one of their mills.

I recomend the Shearline mini mills and lathes, they will cost a little more but are better quality and made in California.
