The blade is finished at 400 grit,the bolsters at 1000 grit.

I may have asked this before, but how do you cut your nail nicks?

I use a cutoff wheel,3",I have an arbor with a 1/4" shaft. I run the wheel in my lathe and shape the wheel like I want it then put the wheel in my mill and cut the nail nick. I mount the blade on a tooling plate put the tooling plate in a vice,line it all up and grind the nick halfway through the thickness of the blade. I do this after I grind the bevels. I can't remember how thick this cutoff wheel is but I like the look,it makes it look like the nail nicks I used to cut with a dovetail cutter.
