Question for Folder Makers

As many know, I'm a professional stabilizer/ wood worker and aspiring cutler and thus come across different materials to be used as handle stock. Recently I've been working with armadillo and gar and was wondering what folder makers prefer as a backer for their armadillo scales. The "hides," in question are about 1/16" thick and vary in width and length. Do you guys prefer 1/8 micarta/ G10, 1/16 stainless/copper or no backing at all? Thanks guys for taking the time to read and or respond.

God bless,

Faron,
I prefer to have it unpacked so I can back it with what I want for the knife I'm putting it on.
This particular set of scales were very dark so I backed them with .03" black g-10 and used black Conap epoxie.
