KNIFE MAKER

This is my knife #20 with the Pepper Jade scales that I received from the Give-Away.
My least favorite color in the world is green. My wife's two most favorite colors are GREEN and orange so, when she saw the Pepper Jade she asked for it. My wife is very supportive of the fact I got up one morning and advised the family I was retireing and was going to become a bladesmith about a year ago. She always shows interest in what I am trying to do, and never once has ask for anything, much less a knife. This project as done for the hardest client of all, my wife. She is a Dec. 21, 2012er. Her knife has to be light, quick, cut meat, and of course pretty.
This is the fire time I work with a non natural handle material. It worked just like the wood or bone I normally use. Grinding was easy and it polished just like I polish my bone.
Started with a piece of Aldo's 1084, forged to shape, profiled and then anealed. did my rough grinding to 220, file work, and then normalized the blad. Followed by thermal cycling it, and final finish. Nickel silver lanyand tube, 1/8th pin and 1/4" mosaic pin. I tried to get a hamon but, I guess I need to work on that a bit.
Needs sharpening and final polish which will happen afer the making of the sheath (she needs to determine how she is going to carry it and the color-I told her orange would look nice,LOL)
Tracy, Thank You for the scales and the support you provide your follow knifemakers. I will be ordering some kirinite in the future, it will be part of what I offer my clients
