I made a purchase of three of those Norton U963, 100 grit belts. Yes, I'm still on the first one after much, much, use. I think they are terrific even at about $16.50 each. Frank

Hey Frank!

I was just telling John Doyle about them this weekend! He spent the weekend with us, and we had a great time "puttering" around the shop. When I purchased those belts, I believe I gave around $12 each, but your right, they are WELL worth it. If things go along as they are now, 6 of those belts will last be better than a year. I used them to clean up prior to heat treat, and then to begin the clean up after heat treat with them....I've lost track of the number of blades that I have done on a single belt.
The thought has crossed my mind......"I wonder how long one of these belts would hold up in a 50 or 60 grit for heavy work?" Even if a 50 or 60 grit were $15 each, they would be well worth it.

True Grit sells them. Yes, Ed, I was thinking exactly the same thing. Sure I may have had the price wrong. They are weird in that they don't seem to change appearance with use. I've expanded my use of them. Sure hope we do see the same thing happen with more course grits.
