The Whatchamacallit

This is my second knife ever, not really sure what kind of knife it is so I'm calling it "the Whatchamacallit" The oak is over 200 years old and came from a historic farm house located on the brandywine battlefield during the revolutionary war, a carpenter buddy of mine was on a historic remodel and saved me a chunk. Nice little utility type knife with many uses.

If you have more of that wood you may want to have it stabilized for more handles.

I do have more wood, Its a beam about 3'X10"X3' long. Had to remove all the cut nails. Where can you get wood like that stabilized?
 
Are you in the Southern chester County PA? I am looking to find a few knife makers in the area to meet once a month....
