Is the composition friendly or awkward?
Are the colors right?
Does the focus make sense? Some pictures look better with not being 100% sharply focused.
Is the lighting good? ie does the lighting show off the knife or is it too dark/light where the image detail is lost?
Does the photo have good staging? ie do props or other background items help, hurt or just confuse the picture?
