Wassup for the weekend????

I don't know, maybe take a ride to Wa..Wa..Wally's, I'll see, but one thing for sure, I gotta mow the lawn when I get home from work this afternoon. :mad:

I'm gonna work in the shop and also sight in a .22 rifle that I mounted a scope on, a new rifle one of my work pals bought.

Daughter and I plan on going to the range and doing some shooting today.

I still have some oak burl to work up and some redbud a pal gave me, along with some mystery desert wood. I know how the oak burl looks and is nice stuff. The other two are to be judged and perhaps end up being firewood.

My old back is sore this morning and I'm still trying to iron out the kinks to get moving around. Another cup of java and some pills should help.

My old forge is still waiting to get finished, maybe get it put together and ready this weekend, too. I gotta shop online for some coal.

Dang rivers are high, nix on any fishing.

Hey, IG! You doing any serious forging this weekend?
 
Just got back from Wa..Wa..Wally's, dropped of some weld wire, 9018, and picked up some 7018AC wire. Those **18 wire's are typically DC wire only, but IG had picked up some 7018AC/DC, and seeing I only have an AC welder and the 9018 that I had is only DC wire I swapped with Wa..Wa..Wally 2thumbs, good score for me.:cool:

Well it is going to be the cleaning of the smithy this weekend. :eek: I can’t believe how I got it so messy since the HI in April.:rolleyes

I still haven't cleaned out the smithy, but tomorrow sounds like the day.:eek:huh1I also have to reline my welding for. I have a new burner design I am going to try.:eek:;)
 
I still have to clean the smithy and rebuild my welding forge. The BBBB Beaver maybe coming over and maybe Gary too.:eek:I'll be smoking and BBQ chicken leg quarters.:bud:
 
Finally got my yard all cut and cleaned up, cut down a couple dead trees etc. Now my neighbors smile when they walk by instead of shakin' their heads and muttering ;)

All my saws/hawks/machetes/shovel/rakes are sharpened/clean and hung up on the shop wall like they should be.

Gonna plant some flowers in the sunny spots and transplant some ferns from the swamp out back to the shady spots next to the shop.

Thinkin' about planting some strawberries because I like to make wine... I read somewhere it's best to let 'em grow for a year but pinch off the flowers/buds and establish roots before trying to get a fruit crop out of 'em. Anyone got experience with that?

Building the compost bin I want will prolly hafta wait till next week, cuz I volunteered to run the grill at a friend's house all weekend... mmmmmm steaks, burgers, brats, dogs, corn and taters! I'm gettin' fatter just thinkin' about it :D

Plus I got a KITH knife to finish and a bunch of knives to send out for HT... and gotta get my etcher squared away and order a stencil... and and and... no excuse to be bored :D
 
Not gonna make it to Wa..Wa..Wally's today, :( bummer. Kook called earlier and asked if we were going to light the forge today, told him I had chores to do. Maybe Linda and I will hop on the cycle later and take a ride to Kook's house.

Been cuttin' the lawn, wacking down some Oriental Bittersweet, man those weeds just grow everywhere, ban1 Oriental bittersweet, American bittersweet (not a weed) is now an endangered plant.

It looks like it's going to be another hot one this weekend (90+).:eek: The only thing I'll be doing is chilling from the inside out.huh1 Got to pickup another 30 pack of Buds to make it through the weekend. HEHEHEHEHE!!!

Dang hot weather you are getting is what we had. We had a slight break but it's coming back real quick.
