Thanks everybody. Gonna order the right kind of firebricks this evening.

Alright got the right kind of firebricks now I need the right kinda of head for the propane torch. The one I have just puts out two little blue flames. Should the torch be producing an orange type of flame? Any suggestions on torch heads? I'd rather not spend over 20 bucks. I was thinking about the Bernzomatic JT680 019110 Jumbo flame torch head. Will this one work??? Thanks

I like it so far.....I used it to heat treat two knives....it gets hot pretty quick.
