When is thin to thin?

I was playing around with a nail nick and hollow grinding and ground this .085" thick blade on a 14" wheel. The line parallel to the edge is where the blade thickness reaches .015" and is .240" from the edge The line perpendicular to the spine is a little over half an inch fromnthe point, this is where the knife reaches .040" thick. The edge is .007". I will be flat grinding the blade, but curious as to where yall draw the line on it being to thin.

IMHO, as long as it doesnt warp during heat treat. and that whoever is using it understands it is a blade for cutting not chopping

.007 is mighty thin! You maybe ok since your flat grinding. Finish it up and if its too thin make another one.

This was actually a junk blade i was practicing nail nicks in. I ended up hollow griding the actual blade, but didnt go near that thin. Ive heard other makers say they would take theirs that thin. I played with this blade (its been heat treated) no way i could let that out of my shop.
