Where to buy 440C

Aldo recently sold me a great piece of precision ground 440C but I am sure USA knife supply, Alpha knife supply or some of the others can help you with that.

I've learned to call Aldo FIRST for any steel needs. He usually has the best prices and great customer service.

I always have a good time ordering from Alpha. Chuck is a great guy and will answer any of your questions super quickly. His prices are good too, but the steel is usually in 10" or so lengths, so there is extra waste. But that's sometimes just a little more material to have in case of a screw up ;)

:taz:I have about 10' each of 2" and 1.5" diameter. I bought it thinking I could cut it up and sell it to folks wanting to forge their blades.
I have a 155# Big Blu and a 30 ton press. I learned that you don't want to forge this stuff if you are in a hurry! Boy is it tuff and it doesn't move very fast. I was making a set of tapered die faces for forging bevels into blades. I'll get back to them when the snow melts and it warms up.

Now with all that said if you want to buy some contact me.

Thanks Wayne, but I was in need of flat stock, I am a stock removel guy. I have decided to switch over to CPM154cm from Pop's. That is where I used to get my 440C, it was nice clean 440C, but that is not available any longer.
Thanks to all who responded.
Dale
