which motor for this variable speed inverter (VFD)

Check the documentation on your VFD. You may be able to set it so that it will run the motor at double the speed and if it is an inverter motor it is designed for that type service. The KBAC VFDs you change the J4 jumper to accomplish this. If you can make this change your present motor should be fine. Your 2 hp motor should have plenty of power. I recommend a 1.5 hp so you are over that.

thanks timgunn,

this is bit advance for me, but here we use 50Hz (as you do i believe) and from the list you drew, i believe my current motor is a 4 pole, since it produces 1400 at the max of 50Hz.

now the question would be to go beyond its double speed or not, its something i don't really prefer but will talk it over with the man who connected it for me in the first place

thanks again
