Hey guys. I haven't posted anything in a while due to me not completing a knife and sheath in full.

The truth is , I got tired making sheaths for a while, so I made about 8 knives or so that are done , but no sheaths .

So this is the first of the sheaths I made on my new batch of knives.. I made two knives similar and gave the option to the customer on which one he wanted and he decided to have them both .. He took the other one without a sheath .

He wanted me to put his cross somewhere on the sheath ( This cross has been with him for many years and wanted me to incorporate it somehow as well as his first first deer antler tip and the C A T are his daughter initials)

I always loved the primitive style knives . This style of knife was influenced by John Cohea and Daniel Winkler.

Enjoy, and thank you for looking ..

WOW....Thats a home run right there Mikey. The knife is really cool but that sheath is amazing... Great job

Very nice work Mikey. Those knives are fantastic, and your leather work is great. Your hesitation to make sheathes does not show in your finished piece.

Thank you all so very much for the kind words. Always nice hearing good stuff from my bros..

TWSS , as far as the process goes for aging the blade ..

I dip the blade in Ferric chloride for aprox a minute or two . Remove blade from FC and I then put it bleach . Wen the bleach and FC mix, it causes a chemical reaction and causes it to rust.
Remove from blade From bleach after 15 min or so. Clean off rusty wet stuff in your swamp bucket then hit the blade with some 400 gt sand paper . ( don't worry about the 400 scratching the blade , the chemicals will stick better to the scratches and use 600 very lightly during the last process , leaving the dark behind.
Repeat the process 3 or 4 times until you achieve the finish that you want .
I learned it from John cohea.

Thank you Cal. I never really thought about selling my knives at a show. I just make knives as a hobby and sell them locally to local guys and friends of friends. Who knows, maybe someday. Thank you for the nice compliment .

You didn't fully understand what I meant ,I was at The Knifemakers Guild show.

Now I know why you've been so quiet.
Nice work Mike.

Rudy

Haha. Yea Rudy . Ya know I built a knife that I wasn't so happy with , so I built another one similar. They looked kinda cool hangin out together , so i built a few more and so on. By the time I put two and two together , I hade 8 knives built, so nicer then the others . They are all done with t the exception of the edge sharpened and I bought an etching machine. The logo needs to be etched. Also the sheaths . I need to start making the sheaths now. I also had another one engraved bu Doug southerland. After the sheaths start getting done , I'll start posting them.
