Building a new forced air forge questions

$100 isn't too bad for the 2" . My pipe is 1.5 so that's the closest fit. Here is what my burner tip looks like. It's not like what is in plans.

Building a new forced air forge questions

    Look bar travel question.

I went and made a new bolster to replace the one I relieved. It looked bad to me. I straightened the lock out as best I could so it was a nice gradual bend. It doesnt have any travel issues now but now the lock fails when pressure is applied. It locks open as the pressure builds it slips back...

    Look bar travel question.

If the lockbar travels outward towards the scale, does that mean the ball is too tall ?With bolster on it hangs closing but no bolster its smooth closing. Thanks DAVE Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

    Damascus etching question / problem.

It looked good as I took it out. Then it went dark by the time I got it all cleaned off and neutralized. I ll try that method and see what happens. thanks Dave

    Damascus etching question / problem.

I think it was just straight Ferric. Its a mini prybar and its Heat treated just like a blade.Heated to red healed there for a few minutes then dunked in peanut oil. Double tempered at 400.
