    Counterbores

I also use the interchangable pilot type. A word of caution on counterboring titanium: firmly clamp your work, use a slow speed on your drillpress, and use a cutting lubricant. Don't even try to use a slightly dull tool. You can mess up your work and ruin an expensive tool in short order...guess...

    3 of the latest

I've got no problems saying your work is at the top of what's around now. I am really blown away by your knives and razors. If you don't mind... How thin are you getting at the edge before sharpening?

    Startup Questions

Thanks for the replies. After some reading and for general information I found that if my building will be used exclusively for the business I will be able to deduct the expense of putting it up as well as utilities. Most equipment would be classified as capital and can be depreciated over...

    Startup Questions

I'm sorry I must have stated my situation in the wrong terms. I currently make knives as an amateur. I make them for myself and give them to friends/family to use and test. I work as an engineer and have no illusions that I could make the same living making knives...at least at the pace I make...

Makers - what do you want to achieve in 2011?

I want to go pro this year. For me I will need to make as much time for the shop as possible and take advantage of that time to focus on quality and detail rather than merely getting something done.

    Finishing CPMS35VN

Get everything flat and if you've got a buffer, put on the sisal wheel and use some black emory compound. It will take some time. Then polish to taste. I often give it a quick hit with a sewn wheel and white compound. It is a bit of a dark steel but it looks cool in satin to me.

Ideal Steel for a Survival Knife

If you're stock removing I'd go with A2 for a lower cost option and 3v for a more exotic choice.

What abrasives are you guys using on your disc grinder

    Blaze discs would be awesome!

    Finishing CPM3V

Howdy, I have been working with 3V a little recently and I really like this steel. Not bad on the belts and finishes up nicely. My question is on corrosion prevention. What are my options as far as bluing etc? What have you used with success? Methods or specific products would be most...

    Newbie grinding woes

Lately I have been ending up with a blade that is not ground evenly....thinner on the middle and usually thicker close to the tang. What am I doing wrong and how is best to correct this?

    Groover Techniques

Guys, please offer some advice how to properly use a groover. Each time I've tried to use mine I've made a real mess. The "blade" just wants to gouge in the leather or not cut at all. I've even gotten a couple new blades and still the same problems. I can use an edger and an awl just fine...

Aldo, I'm looking to pick up some s35vn and maybe some cpm154. Is there somewhere I can view the sizes you have to offer? I need some wide stock for some kitchen knives I'm dreaming up, like .140 gauge or something in that area. Whatcha got? Thanks, David
