    Anvil Project - Black Robin

Will there be any more of these? They seem to be sold out on the website.

New Pasture Wood by David Roeder J.S.

You'd have to have a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table at shows so people can feel clean again after touching it. Now that you've started this, there's really no telling where it will stop. Soon you'll have people wanting to stabilize their pet's or even their own mess!

    pair of chef's knives

Those look great. Neat idea on the kydex covers. Are you not worried about food/bacteria getting in the chainring bolts?

Lone Star Knife Expo- What are you bringing?

I'll be bringing my credit card for supplies and a whole bunch of admiration. Sorry in advance guys for the rust stains my drool might cause ;) Is there any confirmation about which suppliers will be there? In the past it has been Carpenter, Pops, K&G, Texas Knifemaker Supply, R.W. Wilson...

    Treadmill motor disk grinder build.

Calvin, do you have these pictures still available anywhere? They aren't coming up on my PC and I'd like to see how you attached the disk. I've been wanting to do this very thing but can't figure out how to attach the disk to the motor with the odd threads.

    Attaching Bolsters

Aside from everything mentioned above, if you don't want to silver solder them, then I highly suggest using JB Weld or some other epoxy on them to seal away any moisture.

Knives for the Lone Star Knife Expo

I'll be there but not with a table. It's kind of a shame that they combined it with a gun show. Not that I have ANYTHING against guns, I just liked the way it was last year. Your knives look great Jason, looking forward to seeing them.

Cheapest knife handle material to use for experience?

About the burl, I wouldn't use a heat gun to remove the wax unless you absolutely HAVE to. I'd scrape it away first and sand off the waxy areas, then have it stabilized. The heat gun could burn the wood before it melted the wax. You could set it out in the sun for a couple hours on a hot day.

    The Little Guy

Laurence, if you can fill up a small flat rate box, I'd be glad to take some off your hands. It would be cheaper than using my wife's cutting board :what!:

I like it shane. Are there any advantages to using carbonized bamboo over natural bamboo?

    Quenching oil and 52100

With the medium speed oil, are there any advantages to AAA over peanut/canola oil? I also use P50 as my fast oil, but is it really worth getting AAA over the natural oils?

Necker Destruction Test. Need more ideas

Third (and I've always wanted to do this) It was suggested that I try to shave mild steel, but I took it a step further... I can't tell you the number of times I've heard, "Why should I pay more for your knives when I can run down to the gas station and buy a $10 knife". I decided to...

Necker Destruction Test. Need more ideas

Second It was suggested that I do the much dreaded drop test on concrete floor. So I measured a distance of 48" and let her fall. I suppose this is to make sure the tip is tough enough to take a fall and the HT is spot on so that the blade doesn't bend too much or break. Here are the...

Necker Destruction Test. Need more ideas

Let the testing continue: I took three suggestions (so far) and want to show the results of this "little knife that could" First, we have the "one stick fire" Ok, so when Shane suggested this, I had to look it up on youtube and found out that it is a challenge to make a fire using nothing...

Necker Destruction Test. Need more ideas

Thanks for the ideas Josh. I am curious to see what happens after dropping on concrete. I think I'll also take the rest of your suggestions as they are real world applications.
