I wonder? Glad you brought that up. Edge geometry is the same, yes. Shoulder is the same thickness as well.

    Re gardening 35vn

Thanks Rob, good to know. I ask this because I have two knives from the same manufacturer, same grind, same thickness. The one that I like for edge holding is a point harder than the other. I mean the "softer" one gets dull VERY easy. I may be all wet here? ........and lead dog, you will be...

    HT 410 steel for liners?

I have preliminary results: I hardened 410 FIRST and was able to drill reasonably well, tap threads, slice and bend the lock lug. The lug kept it's springiness. Now this was .040" thick stuff(what I will use for pocket clips), so we will see how .050" and .060" works for me.

    Steel liners question

    * Question not answered......... but now I do know: 1. Harden 410 steel @ 1800 deg for 5 min. Temper @ 750 deg, for two hours, two times. You shoot for 45 to 38 RC. 2. I did my own testing, expecting to fail. I hardened 410 too the above formula and I think I can handle it by...

    Steel liners question

LINER LOCK: Plan to use 410 SS for liners. I've always used titanium in the past. 1. Do you harden first, before drilling, slicing, bending. 2. Do you do the above before hardning.......note 410 is quite soft and can get out of "flat"

    HT 410 steel for liners?

I'm trying something new, stainlesss steel for my liner locks instead of my usual titanium. I tested a pocket clip I made with .040" thick material and it turned out fine(1800 hardening and temper twice @ 750, two hrs). My question is At what stage do you slice and bend the liner lock...

    Wicked Edge Question

Looking for something that is fool proof. I have a problem of not getting the bevels the same on both sides when reprofiling, especially the last inch of the tip. I have an Edge Pro and have used it for years, but too often the problem occurs. Clearily I'm not a great knife sharpener. Is the...

    S30V, re-heat treat?

After it's already been heat treated, can you do a re-do? I have a blade I want a bit harder. If so, how too? Or refer me to where to look.
