My name is Adriaan Gerber and I'm a full-time knifemaker. This is my latest commission, a Persian kard with a T-shaped blade. The 12 3/4" full-tanged blade is 1095 steel and has an edge length of 8 1/2". The back of the blade has a T-profile for added rigidity and strength and the sharpened clip is stepped. The brass bolsters have four hidden pins and are soldered to the blade. The handle is made of purpleheart and is attached with three Corby bolts.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. My understanding is that the kard was an assassin's knife, held in a stabbing position with the handle such that it's hard to take the knife away from you.
